Absolutely Unamerican
One aspect of the immigration debate that hasn't been commented on here is covered in this item in The Wall Street Journal.
Should it even be necessary to note that any legislation criminalizing Good Samaritans is politically stupid?
What's worse, it's wrong. Given that America is the most humane and charitable country on earth, it's not too much even to call such proposals "unamerican." Amazing . . . the INS can't even, apparently, do what it's supposed to do well, that is, protect America's borders. So now they're also supposed to focus on busting those who are aiding those in need? Please.
Reminds me of the new proposals for universal governmental preschool. Like the public schools are doing such a stellar job as it is . . .
