Newsflash: Media Bias is Real!

Who'd 'a believed it? Read the summary of the UCLA-led study here.

Among the interesting tidbits: "Special Report with Brit Hume" -- cited often by liberals as an egregious example of right-wing bias -- is one of the most balanced news shows on the air today. Guess it just seems so right-wing because it's so unusual in the MSM world: There are, reportedly, only two right of center news entities -- "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times.

Only two. So much for the paranoid liberal fantasy that conservatives are "taking over" the media.

MSM does not see the bias. It looks normal to them. Even if twisted beyond recognition to the less biased.

Since the study is coming from UCLA, it can hardly be proof that writing about makes one a "puppet".

I found this comment on Neal Boortz's Newz page:
"We won't get into the methodology of the study here -- it's actually quite confusing (especially for guv school grads) --- but the results were interesting. What is the most liberal major media outlet out there? That would be the news pages of The Wall Street Journal. This is flat-out amazing considering the fact that the editorial page of the Journal is just about as conservative as it gets for major outlets. Behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal, we have CBS News, The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times as the next most liberal news organizations. There were only two major news source that scored to the right of the American people, Fox News Channel's "Special Report with Brit Hume," and The Washington Times. Hume's program is only so slightly to the right that it is also listed in the study as being essentially "centrist." The study found that the most centrist outlet was "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" followed by CNN's "NewsNight with Aaron Brown" and ABC's "Good Morning America." Hume was fourth in the centrist category."

Comes under the category of "We told you so!"

A University study shows a liberal bias in the Main Stream Media. A blogger comments on the University study. And the duke-stir calls the blogger a puppet!

uhhhh ....

I just don't have the words.

Shortly after the election last November I ran into a good friend in the parking lot at the market. He was near tears because his guy had lost. He said it had depressed him immeasurably. I asked him where he got his news. After learning it was primarily the local anti-Bush newspaper and the Lehrer News Hour I advised him to quit those outlets. I told him that if I would rather slit my wrists than get mind-twisted by those organs (also defined as "wind instruments." I said, I don't want to change your allegiances, I just want you to avoid the sources of discontent (and dissent). Then I changed the subject because I was getting depressed.
