Where's the Compassion?

The city of San Francisco has started cracking down on the homeless population. Hm. Wasn't that sort of behavior supposed to be the exclusive province of heartless conservatives? It seems when their own quality of life is at stake, many liberals are more willing to talk the talk (and tax "the rich") than walk the walk. Where's the spirit of "shared sacrifice" for the less fortunate?

For conservatives, San Francisco has become a poster child for the looney left, a symbol of the evils of extreme liberalism.

I recently spent a week in San Francisco. It was my first visit. I have to say I had a great time. It is a beautiful city and nearly everyone I met was very pleasant - and I covered a lot of ground in many different neighborhoods. I would happily go back again and I'd recommend it to anyone else.

It might be worth noting, though, that I never had a single political conversation my entire time there.

I reserve the right to continue to mock the many ridiculous political stances that emminate from San Francisco. I just wanted to give the place credit for being a beautiful and friendly city.
