Anti-war YouTube.com bloggers viciously attack vets & mothers!

Hello! This is Jim Hoft. I run the blog Gateway Pundit.
Carol told me a while ago that she may need some help this week. I said I would be glad to do what I can while she is away.
I just got this in my email earlier today and believe it is timely and worth sharing:

Anti-war YouTube.com bloggers viciously attack vets and their mothers!
August 28, 2007

Dear Friends,

When I started two weeks ago, I could not imagine the out pouring of support you would give to this mission and how quickly everyone would unite - so thank you!

One of our partners, Freedom's Watch, recently began airing ads with Gold Star Mothers and Iraq War veterans. These people are real heroes who have sacrificed everything to defend our freedoms and they deserve our respect and honor.

Unfortunately, the anti-war bloggers on YouTube.com are now personally attacking these loving mothers and wounded vets with the vilest comments ever imaginable.

In response to Laura Youngblood, who lost an uncle in 9/11 and her husband in Iraq, a blogger who identifies himself as, "thewarden70" wrote this, "This lady, if she can be called a lady, is completely incapable of telling the truth, any use of simple logic, and devoid of a soul."

It gets worse! Another blogger naming himself as, "Thrashaero" penned this after watching vet John Kriesel who lost both legs in Iraq, "Aww poor thing. has no legs and still is too proud to figure out that he screwed himself over by joining to support a ridiculous war.your sacrifice is meaningless."

The comment left on YouTube.com that makes me most sick is the one directed at Gold Star Mother, Vicki Strong. Ptboy90210 wrote this, "Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Vicki Strong is a terrible person. Her son is spinning in his grave."

We cannot stand for this. These radical anti-war members need to know their comments are unacceptable!

Please, call 1-877-222-8001 today. An operator will connect you to your Member of Congress. Please tell them what the anti-war crowd is saying about our brave American troops and their mothers! Tell them they must distance themselves from these cruel anti-war people!

If you still haven't seen Freedom's Watch video, you can watch them by clicking on this link or visiting Freedom's Watch.

Please remember that our message is silent unless you act!

UNITE FOR VICTORY!

Can you link to the Youtube videos being discussed?

A question - is it the Youtube videos that are offensive or the comments?

If it is the comments - those people are not "Bloggers". If anyone assumes that Youtube commentators are somehow representative of ANY part of the political spectrum then they are sadly mistaken. If anyone starts calling these people "bloggers" then they completely misunderstand the nature of blog media.

With bloggers at least you have URLs and blog names to link to. A bunch of acne faced 14 year old jerks who make rude comments on Youtube about someone does not a case against the antiwar movement make.

It is absurd at this late date for Freedom's Watch to run ads propagandizing and perpetuating Bush's lie that Iraq was associated with the terrorist attack of 9-11.

Freedom's Watch apparently has no shame. Those who are acting in the ads, are getting paid and are attempting to convince others to sacrifice for lies and therefore are fair game.

Ari Fleischer is one of the founders of Freedom Watch. He was interviewed a couple of days ago about the release of these ads. He was asked the name of the solder with the missing leg and he didn't even know his name. This pretty much shows us, how much Ari cares about these soldiers' sacrifice.

Yes, these comments are cruel and vicious. They are unpardonable. But you draw the wrong conclusion from their sins. You write "We cannot stand for this. These radical anti-war members need to know their comments are unacceptable!"

There's a gigantic difference between reprehensible, which is what these comments are, and unacceptable. These people have a right to say reprehensible things. That's the nature of freedom. That's what we all believe in.

Remember too that they represent nobody other than themselves. Do not generalize their comments to apply to the entire anti-war movement. I was against this war from the beginning, and I dare to claim that my own commentary is less derogatory than many of the posts made here.

The best response is to insure that you are never guilty of saying reprehensible things about political opponents. While nothing I have encountered on this blog comes close to the comments you cite, I would suggest that the writers of this blog do live in glass houses.

The "anti-war" bloggers as you call them are right! Believe it or not, there are some people in this country who can think for themselves w/o walking in lock-step with Bush and Company......

Ms. Strong ought to be ashamed for taking part in those ads. Freedom Watch is not going to change one fact: most Americans are against this stinking war, and people like me will vote out anyone who insists on keeping our troops in harms way!

Ms. Strong does NOT speak for me or the many other military relatives who are worried sick about our loved ones!

And, as that other blogger pointed out, the war in Iraq has been PROVEN to NOT be connected with 9/11. Saddam had nothing whatsoever to do with that tragedy, and to perpetuate that lie is shameful!

Vicki Strong is wrong for claiming she doesn't want another 9/11. It's already been proven that the Iraq war had nothing to do with that tragedy. Saddam had nothing to do with the WTC attack....to shamefully repeat that lie is an insult to those who lost loved ones that day.

One of my aunts lost three friends in the WTC on 9/11, and Ms. Strong's words are a slap in the face to people like her.

And, my family has soldiers who are currently serving in Iraq. We deserve to have them return home alive and in one piece, NOT in a pine box. While I feel awful that Ms. Strong lost her son, she certainly does not speak for me or the countless other Americans who are tired about this war and want it to end. People like me will vote out of office those who insist on perpetuating this modern-day Vietnam.

It has NEVER been disproven that Saddam had his hands all over the attack on 9-11! He had training camps in the dessert, complete with 737 mockups to use for terrorist training, He paid $25,000 to anyone who would become a martyr for the "cause." Have you heard of the, "Oil for Food Program" where over 20 Billion dollars was paid under the table to U.N. leaders in exchange for those same U.N. "leaders" to turn their back on illegal weapons that were sold to and delivered to Saddam, from such countries as France, Germany and Russia? The same three who opposed our involvement in Iraq? If I were you, I would dig a little deeper for your supposed, "facts."

That's correct -- and disproof is an impossible requirement to meet. In order to disprove the hypothesis that Mr. Hussein was involved in the 9/11 attacks, we would need the testimony of an unbiased observer who witnessed every action taken by Mr. Hussein in the years prior to the attack.

Occam's Razor puts the burden of proof on the other side: you must prove that there was a connection. And as yet there is no credible evidence to that effect, much less any proof.

Chepe Noyon, The point is that Saddam was, "a gathering threat,"
as the President said over five years ago. Whether or not he was directly involved in the planning of 9-11 is irrelevant. His under the table weapons purchases were enough reason to stop him. Terrorists thrived and were pampered very well under his rule.
Good enough for me!

Cliff, I'll not debate the merits of the decision to invade Iraq at this time. The point I was making is that the link between Mr. Hussein and 9/11 is illusory.
