Barack is a smart guy, and he realizes which way the politics on this are going to play. What's more, he's got more leeway to reach beyond the crazy netroots on the war issue -- he doesn't have to prove his anti-war credentials, given that he's not part of the "we were tricked" caucus consisting of senators Clinton, Edwards, Biden, and Dodd.
