Tender Concern for the Terrorists

It's remarkably revealing of Democratic priorities that they are so eager to bring Gitmo prisoners to the United States, and try them in federal courts.

Let's be clear. These aren't citizens and they aren't criminals, these aren't even prisoners of war -- these are enemy combatants, who would like nothing better than to hack off Americans' heads with butter knives, and who would gladly return to the battlefield to continue their efforts to kill our soldiers.

As for their treatment at Guantanamo, we should only hope that our POWs would experience anything approaching the care that the terrorists are receiving at our hands. Prisoners have gained an average of 15 pounds and receive parting gifts of jeans and Korans.

And yet, even so, the Democrats worry about them and can't wait to offer them federal trials here on the American mainland -- despite the fact that the kind of people imprisoned at Guantanamo treat our soldiers like this. .

It's worth wondering: Would the Dems have offered federal trials on the American mainland to Nazi soldiers captured on the WWII battlefields? After all, as real POWs, they were certainly entitled to more rights than these terrorist enemy combatants. Of course, such an arrangement would have been unthinkable back when the Democratic party hadn't been unhinged by its left flank.

Again, this just reveals the Democrats' real view of the war on terror: It isn't really a military matter for them -- just a law enforcement operation. Add it's why they can't be trusted with power.

Dems like these are just determined to bring destruction to our country. Who are the idiots who put these schmucks in power?

I'm having a difficult time following your thinking here. Didn't you just write that you want convicted felons to go free?

Yes but how do you know this? How can you tell which prisoner is an enemy combatant and which one just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?

In order to determine this objectively and fairly, you need a legal system to operate.

Why is this required now? Were we trying Nazi POW's while the war was still raging? I'm sure dome of those guys were just regular dudes who were drafted and totally not down with the Nazi politics. Yet, they had to cool their heels for the duration. Same here. It's unfortunate that some might be totally innocent of any terrorist connection. At least they're in OUR prison and not one of their's. Wait. They don't really have any prisons, they just kill everybody.
