Who are the people who take these polls? Did it really require study to figure out that there's a link between the decline of moral values and a reduced emphasis on religion?

I guess I'm in the Orthodox group. That's a big surprise to some here, I'm sure.
Another "no duh" moment is illustrated in the comments of the atheist. When I hear the term "morality", I'm generally thinking "sex". When people hear the term, "moral decay" regarding our society or culture, they are usually going to think of sexual morality, which has definitely gone off the deep end since the 50's and 60's. Atheists typically don't think of sexual behavior in the same manner. They tend to lump non-sexual behavior in the same bag. In any case, I think the survey is pretty much on the mark.
