Global Warming and Gore
Michael Barone points out the quasi-religious nature -- and the solipsism -- of Al Gore's climate change crusade.
Those on the left like to proclaim, without more, that debate should end and that consensus has been reached (on the left, of course, that's true). But the facts tell a different story:
When you read the fine print of even the scientific reports that Gore likes to cite, you find the same thing. Gore foresees a 20-foot rise in sea level — 240 inches. The IPCC panel report foresees a maximum of 23 inches. Gore says that “our civilization has never experienced any environmental shift remotely similar to this.” Geologist Don Easterbrook says there have been shifts up to “20 times greater than the warming in the past century.”

Well Gore created a shift in mindset. Now Conservatives are accepting at least in part the IPCC report to attack Gore. Pretty funny how Gore accomplished that.
Not really. Conservatives are showing that even the reports he cites don't agree with him. Pretty typical how Gore accomplished that.
MA,
The conservatives are lying about what Gore said in his movie. Pretty typical of them. Testimony by scientists on the IPCC committee stated that some of the latest scientific findings provide more support that Green and the Ice Caps could melt at a faster rate than indicated in the IPCC report.
Regardless, this isn't about Al Gore and it is ridiculous for conservatives to pretend it is. Especially when Bush, the petro President himself, is admitting that Global Warming is real.
Why are conservatives picking losing positions? Ain't no future in that. Even if Global Warming was not occurring, one really must wonder why conservatives want to remain dependent on foreign oil.
It sure seems Conservatism has lost it's way and sure isn't anything Reagan would be happy about.
Earth,
Gore is an idiot. The left is looney. And, this may be the most offensive comment I could possibly make to you, The United State of America is great!

Just read the news. I understand that it's scary and it's easy to stick your head in the sand, but this is real, no matter what you might think of Al Gore.
