Hearing the Beast's Roar

Democrats were very happy to play up discontent with the Iraq war when it suited their political purposes. It will be interesting to see, however, if it ultimaely turns out that they've built a beast that wants to devour them -- the moderates, at least.

Today, a Democratic press conference on lobbying reform was essentially shut down by a raucous anti-war protest. How entertaining it will be to watch Dems like Rahm Emmanuel and Steny Hoyer try to placate the hard left without losing the middle.
