So Much for Moderation

Nancy Pelosi has decided to support John Murtha for Majority Leader. Yes, it's the same man who advocated stationing troops in Okinawa to respond to Middle East crises. Tells you a bit about the Democrats' headlong run toward defeat and retreat in Iraq.

By the way, didn't Pelosi say that "I have to uphold the highest ethical standards"? And didn't the Democrats campaign on the supposed Republican "culture of corruption"? How, exactly, do they propose to square that rhetoric with Murtha's involvement in Abscam?

Apparently, there's a statute of limitations on Democratic wrongdoing. Look how revered Teddy Kennedy -- the Prince of Chappaquiddick -- is among those on the left.

What lefty rag did you get THAT from? A "major base for terrorism"? That's why we're there. How typical you rely on the Saudi's take for more BDS drivel.

I'm happy to see Pelosi support Murtha for Majority Leader, and I hope he wins the position.

In an effort to maintain civility in these types of forums I usually try to avoid quoting Ann Coulter. After all, abrasive confrontation is her schtick. But I think she hit the nail on the head with this:

"Democrats support surrender in Iraq, higher taxes and the impeachment of President Bush. They just won an election by pretending to be against all three."

We may not even have to wait for the new Democratic majority to take office to see them shed their "moderate" halloween costumes. Soon the American public will see clearly the hard left they have empowered in Congress.

The more the Democratic leadership shows their true colors the better for Republicans, America and the rest of the world in 2008!

C'mon, Chappaquiddick was how long ago? If this conversation needs to be about which side is more corrupt than the other, someone else can go there; I'm not interested. Both sides clearly have some housecleaning to do ...

Time to push in the House an end to earmarks. As a tool of corruption, good ol' San Fran Nan Gran Pelosi will push that forward.

I agree Red. But in this context, Pelosi has spoken of the (and it sickens me to use the term) "culture of corruption" and she right away offers two with shady pasts for leadership positions. (The other would be that impeached judge.) For the group that seemed so aghast at the "massive" corruption in the Bush admin and the GOP in general, you'd think only angels would be considered.
