Leak From the Left?

A Democratic Intelligence Committee staffer has been suspended because there's reason to believe he leaked the controversial NIE to The New York Times. Not surprisingly, Democrats are "outraged" by the suspension.

In a strange way, this is perfectly consistent with Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill's assertion that another leak did no harm (that's the one about the terrorist bank records and wiretapping program), supposedly since the terrorists knew about secret anti-terror programs anyway.

Isn't it clear that the Democrats aren't serious about classified information -- because they're not really serious about the war on terror?

Update:

Well here we have it. Just a political game being played with a staffer.

Today on Fox News, LaHood (R) said, “I’ll tell you why I did it. The reason I did it was because Jane Harman released the Duke Cunningham (R)— who sat on our Intelligence committee — report.” That report, which detailed the misconduct of Cunningham, who is now serving a jail term, was not classified.

A Fox anchor asked, “So, it’s payback?” LaHood responded, “There are some of us on the other side who can equally play politics, and I’m not afraid to do it.”

Editor, what difference does the motive make? I don't get your point.

Point is Cliff, that LaHood suspended the staffer for a political game, not for any evidence that the staffer was the leaker. But as we've seen staffers, interns, and pages are apparently just play things for the Republicans.
