An Innovative Campaign

Over at the American Spectator, Francis Beckworth has a fabulous idea for both educating the public and holding up the New York and Los Angeles Times to the obloquy that they deserve.

A great article, as I was a young lad and remember how everyone on the home front viewed themselves as much soldiers as those on the war front were.

How can you not? Assuming you understand it is the United Statesthat is at war.

Nobody that I can remember referred to WWII as "Roosevelt's War."

The hypocrisy will end when Bush better known as Mr. Leaker is impeached or at least censured for outing a covert CIA agent for political purposes.

It would seem that the NY Times and LA Times don't realize we are at war, or they do realize it and don't want the United States to win. But even if we were not at war, say we were not in Iraq or Aphganistan, wouldn't they want us to catch and interdict terrorists? One would think not.

Ditto, may obloquy be upon you more than what you have already hypocritically heaped upon yourself already by aligning yourself with the NY and LA Times.

Dodge,

It seems you own the hypocrisy.

It is true that Bush himself bragged about tracking and seezing terrorist funding via banking and financial institutions from Sept 24th, 2001 on. Wasn't the president himself leaking to the terrorist about US spying.

So shouldn't Congress censure the president for aiding the enemy?

Isn't this really NYT's position, that the president and others had made the program publically known and therefore they were not disclosing anything that was not easily found in the public records.

Ditto, you are correct, I have become a right wing loony, decreeing as I have, that this party and that party are of this alignment or that alignment.

I think I need to return to the old days when I labeled everybody I didn't agree with as communists.

Right you are, the Communist label works every time! LOL

You laugh but isn't that the point, namely when we don't have a common enemy we fight each other. What I want to know is why isn't fighting the ideology that brought us 9/11 enough of a common enemy? Why are we still fighting each other? Don't give me that crappola about, well, we don't like the way its being fought, yada yada. Its being fought by the Commander in Chief. You don't like the way he fights, get another one that you like. That's what Bill Clinton always told us whenever he was grinding his thumb in our eyes. I remember the days of New York Yankee hating. I always took the view, hey, if you aren't good enough to beat 'em, quit yer bellyachin.

dodger,

Only 28% think Bush is leading the country in the right direction. You will not silence the rest. Not in a democracy with freedom of speech.

Okay, 72% say Bush is not leading the country in the right direction. What does that mean? Does it mean the country is not going in the right direction? Does it mean Bush is at fault? What does the 72% think is the right direction? Does this mean we should run the country by referendum? Does this mean that if the president has only 28% of the country behind him, he should reverse course? Reverse course to where? Suppose Bush reverses course and next month the polls say that the new course is unpopular, shoud he again reverse course? See how ridiculous mob rule is? See how much better things would be if we let the Commander in Chief age wars and help him win them?
