"Class versus Crass"

Over at Real Clear Politics, Seth Swirsky contrasts the behavior of President Bush with that of his adversaries.

Unfortunately, this very characteristic seems only to add fuel to the fire...
I see it as taunting boys daring a non-fighter to enter the fray. Or the adult using a long arm to hold a swinging youngster out of range. In the first case, the boys will continue to taunt, always upping the ante until they succeed in drawing the non-fighter into the battle or some other event stops the whole thing. In the second case, the unsuccessful swinging fists only seem to serve to further inflame.
Is there any solution?

Oh yes, George "High Road" Bush sure is worthy of such praise.

After all, he knew nothing of the guerilla campaign against McCain in South Carolina in 2000, the well-coordinated smear that phoned voters to ask them how they felt about McCain fathering an illegitmate black child.

And as we all know, he was bound and determined to get to the bottom of who leaked Valerie Plame's name, promising to fire whomever was responsible.

And we all remember his sharp denunciation of the Swift Boat veterans, right?

Ah, it sure is nice to have underlings to do all the dirty work for you, huh Duh-bya?

And the gall of Ted Kennedy being outraged by Bush's deadly, catastrophic lies after being invited to a movie! What is wrong with this world?!

It's too bad everyone can't be as cultured as Carol Platt Liebau. It takes a special type of person to help spread lies about a decorated veteran and then blame the veteran when you find out you were wrong.

Klassy with a K, Ms. Liebau. Klassy with a K.
