Could Smaller Be "Better" (in some ways)?

Here is an interesting theory linking women's smaller brain size with their enhanced capacity for emotional intelligence -- a valuable trait in some (but not all) contexts than men. I love linking to pieces like this because (1) they're fascinating and (2) they drive feminist harridans absolutely crazy.

I'm never sure why we're supposed to be so offended by theories that posit that there are differences between men and women. Duh. When did obvious truth become so controversial?

exactly! But I'm still having a hard time convincing my wife that I'm a better driver than her because men inherently have better depth perception (which was proven in a similar study).

I certainly hope so!

But, copioneer, I've seen a study (sorry, can't provide a citation) showing that women take fewer chances than men when driving, so avoid getting into circumstances that men get into and can't get out of. Maybe men could use a little of women's restraint and women could use a little of men's depth perception? But what would we do with all those unemployed body shop workers? ;)

Per E.F. Schumacher and his famous (economics) book of the same name, "Small is Beautiful."
