If "victory" means the same cast of clowns who have been frittering away our money, a little defeat might do the GOP some good.
The Republicans need to purge themselves of the spending habits they have acquired over the last 12 years. I don't currently see the fear of defeat doing this, so the party might need a dose of the real thing.

r2afft is apparently unaware of the dissatisfaction amonst Republican/conservative population with Bush's spending habits. He may also be aware that some of it is attributable to an increase in the number of people applying for government handouts. In any case, we on the right are well aware such problems but don't see the elevation of Democrats as a viable answer. Better still would be to support those on the right with more fiscally conservative track records. Yeah. Staying home in November is a real bad idea.
