Playing With Fire
Some senators are blocking reauthorization of the Patriot Act -- and working hard to weaken its protections because of their concern for "civil liberties."
At least it makes for easy accountability. If America is hit again, we'll know exactly who cared more about protecting potential terrorists -- and correspondingly less about protecting Americans.

Yeah, that's it, Carol. If we're attacked again it will be the fault of civil libertarians, and not the do-nothing President and Republican Congress who have ignored securing our most vulnerable infrastructure.
Hurry, do some more preemptive finger-pointing before another disaster causes the Worst President Ever to go fetal.
When terrorists want to organise they will not be interrupted by any inconvenient laws.
The Senators Carol is complaining about have offered a straight-up three month extension of the existing PATRIOT act, while differences are ironed out.
Trying to force a quick vote, the President has threatened a veto of any extension. The Republican leadership of the Senate has refused to bring the issue up for a vote because of the President's threatened veto. In the end, the President is saying, "My way or the highway."
