Marking the Spot
It seems appropriate that CNN would be launching an investigation about how an "X" appeared over the Vice-president's face during his speech yesterday.
One hates to jump to conclusions -- but if anyone else has ever had an X appear over his face while on CNN, it would be nice to know both whom and when.

A common marker for an image, in lieu of the image, is an X that indicates the X has not yet loaded or is missing. I know this because I work with graphics and text in instructional material and this happens all the time.
I recall how lame the DemocRATS sounded in 2000 over a very similar thing.
They did do an investigation and bloggers have blogged about it...but those on the Right refuse to accept the answer...
