A Capital "Capitol Christmas Tree"

Dennis Hastert has done something right. The Capitol Christmas tree, which had been known as the "holiday tree" since the late '90's, has now been rechristened (oops, sorry, "renamed") the "Capitol Christmas Tree."

Christ was born, a mass is said, a tree is decorated.

Good for Rep. Hastert.

The Norwegian Christmas tree was lit last night at Washington's Union Station accompanied by the Cathedral Choral Society singing Christmas carols, a young Norwegian jazz musician (yes, really: Lage Lund) playing a couple of carols and a representative from the DC Mayor's Office to accept the gift from the Norwegian Embassy. Through it all it was unabashedly a Christmas tree.

And good for them.
