Governor Blank-o Gets Special Treatment

If there's anyone in America who believes that Kathleen Blanco's response to Hurricane Katrina was competent in any way, shape or form -- well, read this.

And if I hadn't been on a rampage about the Miers nomination last week, trust me, this wouldn't have gone unremarked upon. After pummelling former FEMA director Mike Brown unmercifully, senators agreed -- at Blanco's request -- not to ask her any questions about her response to the disaster.

What an odd time for the concept of chivalry to be resurrected. But even more, how disgraceful that Blanco would beg for special treatment. How, exactly, could she justify ducking reasonable questions -- especially in light of the fact that she was in town to supplicate for more federal money???

Outrageous.

This is outrageous, Carol. The story you a referring to is taken completely out of context to make this slimy assualt. Are you purposely trying to see how far you can push the envelope of honesty before you get called on it?

Governor Blanco was asked if she wanted to defend herself against Michael Brown's previous day of mud slinging. Rather than stoop to the massive display of finger pointing that characterized Brownies testimoy, she demurred saying she wanted to move forward.

Have you no shame, Madam?
