Anti War Mythology
Those who oppose the Iraq war realize that -- offering nothing but defeat, failure and an "Iraq's-not-our-problem" mentality -- they need some mythology to try to bring the otherwise unconvinced to their side.
Hence their insistence that the woman conducting a pathetic sideshow of maternal bereavement be named "Mother Sheehan". And now, it appears, at least one strange woman in Carbondale, Illinois, has perpetrated a two year hoax that kept a local newspaper riveted by false accounts of a little girl's letters to her father in Iraq, filled with pleas like "Don't die, OK?" and denunciations of President Bush including the following: "I'm rily mad at you and you make my hart hurt. I don't think your doing a very good job. You keep sending soldiers to Iraq and it's not fair. Do you have a soldier of your own in Irak?"
All fake. The op/ed column the newspaper gave over to the little girl's supposed dispatches -- a big mistake. Wonder if they'll offer any column inches to some real little girl out there who misses her dad but supports the war?

Carol, you may want to actually read some of them stories you are complaining about before you go making sweeping generalizations about the media's bias.
The fake stories you are complaining about also contain such bon mots as
She has also has a very difficult time understanding the war protesters and has begun to fear them the way most kids fear the boogeyman or monsters.
She calls them "the bad people," and is convinced they are going to come to her house at night to hurt her or camp out on the lawn and make her father not want to come home.
Wow, comparing war protestors to bogeymen who are going to attack a poor defensless little girl who misses her Daddy, Yep, you're right Carol, how liberal of them.
lbrosky. As evidenced by the previous post, it is best to never take Carol's posts as an accurate summary of the situation until you confirm it for yourself.

How can you defend a war that has made us less secure, more hated around the world, cost a quarter TRILLION dollars and 2,000 American lives. A war that was waged on lies about WMD and Iraq's links to Al-Qaeda. Americans maybe stupid but they aren't THAT stupid! You go on to label everyone who doesn't buy into increasingly ridiculous Republican spin about this war as "anti-war" and "peaceniks" (pathetic and tired Rovian tactics by the way). You compare them to 60's "radicals" protesting Vietnam.
Calling these people anti-war, is like calling me anti-President. These people are not "anti-war" they are anti THIS war, just as I am not "anti-President" I am anti THIS President!
