It's a remarkable recognition of the power and influence that Rush Limbaugh has over political discourse in America that the Democrats would stoop to such craven, phony attacks on him.
Why, oh why would anyone with even a modicum of intelligence attempt to capitalize on a supposed "scandal" that can be rebutted through even a cursory listen to Rush's statement?

Well, no one they know listens to Rush.
Narcissim is rampant among the Left, so a lot of it is just reinforcing their stereotypes (we are good, conservatives are bad, others are victims). Narcissists need a constant stream of reinforcement.
Harry Reid should stick to doing his job instead of grandstanding on this false issue.
Out of all the horrible things that Rush Limbaugh has said, belittling racially motivated violence, comparing feminists to Nazis, etc., Harry Reid picks this one thing that Limbaugh said to denounce on the Senate floor.
I imagine it's a tit for tat strategy. He may feel justified to do this after the attacks from the right on Moveon and their ad that criticized general Petraus. And the congress was cowardly in their anti-American denouncement of the ad.
Well, no matter who does it, it's wrong. A great deal of what Rush Limbaugh says is despicable. He is a shock jock; that's his job. Do I need a senator to tell me that? I can listen, read, think, then make my own judgments.
The senate should busy itself with the business of the country.
I hope the Senate and House Democrats keep this up. I hope the Democratic candidates for President jump in as well. I hope this becomes an all-consuming event for the MSM.
The more Rush's comments regarding the military are compared to the Democrats' comments regarding the military the better!
