Democratic Priorities

They are more afraid of racial profiling than they are of terrorist attacks. That's the only possible reason Democrats would oppose an effort to protect whose who report suspicious behavior from frivolous lawsuits.

Yeah, we need to be able to protect ourselves from the neonut brown shirt authoritarians. When we have Chertoff making public national security warning speeches based on his gut, it is time to be concerned.

Nice rejoinder, ETC. So on point, too.

This slap in the face by Dems is typical behavior. The incident which triggered this legislation, the "flying immams", sought to protect those who the immams are seeking to sue. These are regular Americans (not neonut brown shirt authoritarians) who found the behavior of the immams to be suspicious, and, as has been requested of them and every American, they reported the behavior. Too freakin' bad for the immams if they were inconvenienced. Perhaps they should realize that they are the same ethnicity and religion of the scumbags who murdered over 3000 of our fellow Americans one fine Sept day, and there are those of us who understand that we need to be aware. Perhaps they should realize that being in America does not mean that Americans are obliged or required to kiss their muslim posteriors any time they wish to act in suspicious manner. Perhaps they should realize that they need to adapt their goofy practices to OUR culture and not the other way around and if it's a bother, it does not imply bigotry in the slightest. Perhaps they should take their lawsuit and stick it in their aforementioned muslim posteriors.

Number of terrorist attacks on American Soil since 9/11: zero

Number of people arrested, detained and persecuted in America because of racist police officers and a racist system of justice: Considerably more than zero.

It's a case of threat assessment. I think it is far more likely that Americans will abuse the powers granted to them by law than for another major terrorist attack.

And it's also more likely that more people will die as a result of these abused laws than died at the WTC.
