Evangelicals for Rudy
Here's a piece about an evangelical who's supporting Rudy Giuliani despite knowing and conceding the differences between them on social issues.
It seems this story is being repeated widely across the country, comfounding the liberal conventional wisdom about the political flexibility, pragmatism and independent thinking of conservative Christians.

But why, Carol, should anyone commit to supporting this guy this early? Can we get no one better? Someone perhaps who's an actual conservative?
Christians and conservatives are a lot more open minded than portrayed by the media (imagine that!). But there's also a practical reason that allows social conservatives to support Giuliani. No President is a king.
Presidents can't force legislation without congressional support. So there's little chance a President Giuliani could pass some scary laws.
And Presidents can't appoint Judges without congressional approval. Conservatives would have a voice - if only to apply some pressure - in a President Giuliani's judicial appointments.
