"Covert" to Whom?
Andrew McCarthy points out a major oversight in the news coverage of Valerie Plame's insistence that she was a covert CIA agent -- that the newspapers themselves have adduced evidence and argued that her cover was blown as far back as the early 1990's.

That legal argument didn't work in a court of law. However, we now know even more with General Hayden, the director of CIA, who was appointed by Bush, acknowledging that Valerie was covert.
But of course the bigger story is why BushCo outed her. Obviously to cover their lies about mushroom cloud threats in the run up to what turned out to be an illegal war of choice on dead-wrong and cherry-picked intelligence. Some of which came from the Special Planning Office of the Pentagon, run by Doug Fieth under Rumsfeld.
Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski (ret.), a veteran of the Pentagon with firsthand experience of the administration’s cherry-picking of intelligence is interviewed on the Truthdig website. What she reveals is very interesting and sad.
It's amazing how much we AREN'T hearing about this BS case. What we DO continually hear is how the unfortunate Ms. Plame's career has been ruined by Libby and other ne'er-do-wells in the Bush administration.
Covert to the CIA, and to anyone that the CIA told. That the CIA considered her covert, and her identity secret, is a plain incontroverted fact. Even if it's true that her cover had been blown previously, and that the CIA hadn't caught on, there has been no evidence presented that anyone in the WH knew this. What is known, is that there were communications from the CIA in the WH that did indicate VP's status was covert. I've looked, and I can't find any reference to CIA communications about VP that don't also identify her as covert. If her identity was passed to anyone by someone who knew her covert status, without also passing on that covert status, or to anyone not authorized to recieve secret information, it was a crime, incompetence, or both.
Earth,
Help me out, here. I'm not aware of a court case in which it was determined that Plame was coverted and thusly outed by anyone.
I am aware of a case in which Libby was convicted of perjury. But that case covered an entirely different subject matter, did it not?
Earth,
Have you given up? Are you unable to find the case you referred to where it was "legally argued" and determined in court that Valerie Plame was indeed covert?
Or, once again, are you just spewing garbage in all directions hoping some of it will become somehow accepted.
