No Respect

It's not often that a President dies. Harry Reid and his merry gang really couldn't have found a way to reschedule some meetings in South America?

Strikes me that if someone wants to be considered a national leader, perhaps he should begin acting like one.

Maybe he should act like this instead, per AP:

...President Bush will not attend weekend ceremonies including a Capitol Rotunda service, but he will return to Washington from his Texas ranch on Monday, pay respects to Ford while his remains lie in state at the Capitol, and speak Tuesday at services for Ford at the National Cathedral.

I have to agree with Carol that "Strikes me that if someone wants to be considered a national leader, perhaps he should begin acting like one."

According to the AP, someone else is going to miss the Saturday Rotunda service.

President Bush will not attend weekend ceremonies including a Capitol Rotunda service, but he will return to Washington from his Texas ranch on Monday, pay respects to Ford while his remains lie in state at the Capitol, and speak Tuesday at services for Ford at the National Cathedral.

Unlike Harry Reid, who is ostensibly working, the President can't seem to make it back from vacation to honor an ex-President.
