More on the Agenda Study
There's more on the "too good to be true" (from the leftist perspective) Guttmacher Institute study discussed here -- the one that claimed that 95% of Americans have had premarital sex.
Here's some information that adds some context to the story.
What the "study" doesn't show is how the loosening attitudes or the late 50's and 60's helped to develop this high percentage. Add to that all the methods that have come out in that time to help reduce pregnancies, and it's not a surprise that everyone makes whoopie before marriage. What the results show in that context, is that kids are being taught, or somehow are learning, that waiting ain't a bad idea. Whether through religion or pragmatism, their behavior is altered in a way that benefits them and society. They don't even look at the subject the same way. It used to be religion provided the reason for such changes and though I hope it stil is, for the sake of society, as long as the change continues to occur, that's a good thing.
