A Solid Strategic Vision

Here's Newt Gingrich's plan for addressing the crisis in the Middle East:

The key steps to ending the violence in Lebanon first requires recognizing that Hezbollah in its military form must be eliminated, that the 100-plus Iranian guard in southern Lebanon must be removed and that the allowing of the Syrian and Iranian dictatorships to supply, train and equip the terrorists must be stopped.

To do that, the United States should offer to help strengthen the Lebanese government so that it has the ability to re-establish itself in all of Lebanon and defeat the military wing of Hezbollah. We should encourage the Israelis to work with the Lebanese government to eliminate the thousands of missiles within its borders that threaten Israel. Finally, Iran and Syria must be forced to cease their support of Hezbollah and Hamas by the United States communicating to them such dire consequences that they could not sustain the relationships. And then we should be prepared, if necessary, to impose those consequences.

Sounds good to me. It's worth noting, of course, that the weak-kneed in America and elsewhere will never be prepared to support the President in imposing the consequences.

Start getting your children in shape because you can't do what Newt wants without a draft and squirrel away your money because we'll also have a world depression. China, Russia, Japan and North Korea will join in the war. While everyone is busy. India and Pakistan will go to war also.

On the other hand Israel has already said their little war should end in a week or so.

There's an old hillbilly saying where I live:

"Can't never did nothin'."

Without a vision for the future no one can affect change. Without the courage to tackle the necessary tasks not even the greatest vision can be accomplished.

Newt is playing that dead neocon agenda, not the Beverly Hillbilly song. And they were the ones who talked idiot Bush into that hell hole in Iraq. The son should have trusted his father.

yeah ditto,

Bush should have stayed out and let Hussein realize all his wildest despotic dreams. Yeah. That would've been the way to go. Good thinking.

The first and smarter Bush had put Saddam in a box and his dumb son opened pandor's box. Yeah, real genious. And it's going so well that now Bush is trying to replace the new Iraqi government with a Sunnis majority while civil war is breaking out with 100 deaths per day.

Now Gingrich is calling it WWIII.

but I'm surprised dhead. Aren't you a humanist with a everything in your head being compassionate about human rights?

Then you should applaud the US getting rid of dictators like Saddam. We should also crush the dictators in N. Korea, Sudan, Iran, Syria...THEN, we can get on with a peace loving feely touchy human race. Oh well, light your pipe.

Collin Powell, Bush(41), as well as many others are the feely touchy type? No they are just not so stupid. Funny how those who were too selfish and/or too afraid to serve pretend to be the brave sabber rattlers, asking others to do the fighting. These people are the cowards, that can't sleep at night, praying for others to save them from the boogeyman.
