You can bet it won't make the MSM headlines, but NRO's Bill Crawford has pulled together an encouraging assortment of good news coming out of Iraq.

Well it appears Bill Crawford's claim to fame is that he is a blogger from San Antonio, TX who aligned himself with the "Swift Boaters."

My husband's unit is building an orphanage. For Bush haters out there, there were thousands of orphans who were left over from Sadam's regime. My old commander has built a water purification system and more wells for his area. He has also worked with the people to create a better power system. The Iraqis around both of these guys actuall like us there and they notify our guys when a terrorist plants an IED so we can go take care of it. They have helped us out a lot. The areas where the Marines are are very anti American, but they are also anti Iraqi. The 101st is also in a bad spot were a lot of foreign terrorists have flooded the area. A Texas National Guard unit who was there organized with the people back home shipments of school supplies for the kids. There only requests were that supplies be sent in quantities, instead of a set for one child, buy 30 notebooks, or 30 pencils, and do not send money. A lot of the units there will take school supplies too. Every year I wait for them to be discounted. last year I was able to buy notebooks at 0.13 a piece. If anyone decideds they want to do this, you cn let me know or look for an address to send it to. The best way to ship is to use flat rate boxes which are $8.10 no matter how heavy. You could fill it with sand and it would still only cost you $8.10 to ship it. Lots of good things happenning over there.

Reuters - June 01, 2006

According to Mohamed Taha al-Mousawi, an adviser at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the national unemployment rate surpassed 60 percent last year. "And the rate rose further in the first quarter of this year, as many policemen and army members quit their jobs due to threats by militants groups," al-Mousawi said. He added that his ministry had no plans to promote employment until the security situation had improved.

Leave it to Dittohead to dig out and present the absolute WORST news possible! What a wretched,
dark and hopeless world he
lives in. Very sad indeed!
Isn't anything worth it anymore?

Cliff,

Don't blame me for the failures of the incompetent President. I didn't vote for him.

United States secretary of state Colin Powell cited this rule when warning President George W. Bush, in the summer of 2002, of the consequences of military action in Iraq.....

"You are going to be the proud owner of 25 million people, you will own all their hopes, aspirations, and problems. You'll own it all."

Ditto, I'm sure you'll laugh at this,go right ahead and be my guest, but MARK MY WORDS and give it enough time, the Iraq war will go down in modern political and military history as being one of the most brillant and clever stradegies in this modern era.I grarantee it!

More news on the subject...

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq will ask the United Nations to end immunity from local law for U.S. troops, the government said on Monday, as the U.S. military named five soldiers charged in a rape-murder case that has outraged Iraqis.

In an interview a week after Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki demanded a review of foreign troops' immunity, Human Rights Minister Wigdan Michael said work on it was now under way and a request could be ready by next month to go to the U.N. Security Council, under whose mandate U.S.-led forces operate in Iraq.

"We're very serious about this," she said, adding a lack of enforcement of U.S. military law in the past had encouraged soldiers to commit crimes against Iraqi civilians.

Ditto, I know that this blog isn't the proper place to say this but I feel sorry for you because, as smart as you are, you have become a slave to a pattern of thinking that has severely trapped and blinded you. Your responses are so predictable and cult-like, don't you want to be free
to think for yourself?

Cliff,

You're better off ignoring dh, duke, and twister. They are hopelessly lost in socialist la-la land! You'll only frustrate yourself by using logic with them.

Funny thing is, if our guv takes on the form of rule they advocate, they will not have the freedom to critisize like they do. They'll wind up in the gulag!

Hmmm...gulag. Like Guantanamo, only colder, right? This from the mayor of fascist caca land.

Not the Pink-Commi label again. Carol warned you Pete. She's already threatened to close this down if you keep it up. If that happens, who is going to spoon feed you the good news on Bush and his failed policies?

There's always Rush, and Hugh, and Fox News, and ...

Be afraid, Ditto. Be very afraid. You simply can't stop us now!
