Saddam's Terror State / Where's the MSM?
Today, the Investors Business Daily runs an important editorial summarizing the contents of some of the recently declassified documents from the Hussein regime.
One of teh translated documents, as the piece notes, is a pamphlet CMPC-2003-006430 for Saddam's spy service:
Here, for instance, are the marching orders for Directorate 8, the Mukhabarat's "Technical Affairs" department: "The Eight Directorate is responsible for development of materials needed for covert offensive operations. It contains advanced laboratories for testing and production of weapons, poisons and explosives."
It goes on. Directorate 9, we discover, "is one of the most important directorates in the Mukhabarat. Most of its work is outside Iraq in coordination with other directorates, focusing on operations of sabotage and assassination."
The document also discusses the Mukhabarat's Office 16, set up to train "agents for clandestine operations abroad." The document helpfully adds that "special six-week courses in the use of of terror techniques are provided at a camp in Radwaniyhah."
Got that? Terror techniques.
Where is the MSM?

Same place Mr. Twister (et. al.) is when it isn't convenient for him to trash one of your posts?
Sorry, Copioneer, I've been having internet problems (dsl keeps going down at night).
Of couse, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Carol is merely spewing crap again.
The English part of the pamphlet that Carol quotes so approvingly was written by the Federation of American Scientists and was a summary of non-classified intelligence from 1997.
The document wasn't translated--Carol lied about that.
The document from 1997 wasn't recently declassified--Carol lied about that.
You can read the facts here.
Sufficient trashing for you, copioneer?
Oh that's right, all y'all of Carol's slavering amen chorus can't be troubled to bother your pretty little heads with facts and thing.
For those of you in Carol's amen chorus who still have two functioning neurons to rub together (that excuses most of you), Juan Cole has more information about these "important documents" here. Seems like even the Arabic sections surrounding the English bits are completely simplistic.
Seriously, almost 2,500 patriots have given their lives and we have spent hundred of billions of dollars on President Bush's war of choice. After three years the best evidence that Carol can give you that the war in Iraq was worthwhile is a reprint of 1997 pdf file from an unclassified American web site.
Once again, Carol has treated all of her faithful readers like idiots. She has willingly foisted a pile of poo off on you and called it Boston creme pie. And all y'all forgo your forks and dive face first into a poo devouring frenzy.
