KABC Tonight
I'll be on 790 AM KABC tonight with Al Rantel just a little before 7:00 pm to discuss the Anna Nicole Smith probate case.
. . . advocating American political and religious liberty, free enterprise, limited government, military strength and traditional values.

Um - why? Why exactly would you be talking about the Anna Nicole Smith case?
In history, we were forever answering the teacher's question: "Why is this important?"
So Carol: Why is it important?
not that important, but interesting. I'm sure the guy's kids in their 60s are interested where the money goes. But yeah, as a society we shouldn't much care.
It's one of those cases that's like standing in the line at the grocery store and looking at the celeb mags, and you can actually hear your IQ dropping. It's best to just focus your energy on the box of Altoids...much more intelligent.
Yeah, I know. That was more a rant than a question.
On further review, I give Carol a pass. She's cool; she actually can speak to the law and briefings at issue (i.e. she's not Chris Matthews trying to talk hunting or cardiology); and a show needs ratings.
People:
I was discussing the Anna Nicole case because that's what I was invited on to speak about. Al and his producer have been enormously kind to me, and it's a pleasure to be with them.
Is there a reason that everything must be "important" at all times?
Ms. Smith is but the outer decoration that draws attention to the dessert, so to speak. Family feuds over wills are not new, but family feuds over wills worth billions are, I would guess, relatively rare. Had the groom married a no-name, less would be made of the case. Celebrity and oddity make news whether or not they should. And there are legalities here whether or not Ms. Smith is involved. If some beauty (or hunk) someday marries you, suddenly dies leaving you billions, and the kids try to take them away from you, you'll be happy Ms. Smith fought her case.
"Is there a reason that everything must be important at all times?" My opinion? Well - yeah.
"Important" probably is a strong word. But I appreciate stories that become larger than themselves, into something to which I can relate. Why not talk about brad and angelina or kevin and jessica (or whomever)?
Because time is short, and choices are many. If I don't perceive it as having some relevance to me, I'd skim past it during channel-surfing.
So it doesn't have to be important or relevant. But for me to tune in, well yeah.
Anyway Bachbone answers my question. It is important to know how a court would resolve this kind of jurisdictional matter. So OK - it's important.
