Real Prosecutorial Abuse
Here's an example of a real out-of-control prosecutor. According to the linked story, Ronnie Earle became "visibly angry" when a grand jury last week declined to indict Tom DeLay.
Given all the false charges he hurled at Ken Starr about being an "out of control prosecutor," I'm sure that James Carville will soon be on the case . . .

Sarcasm aside, Prosecutors are paid to prosecute. Defense lawyers are paid to defend. We can all sit here and call the Earles and Starr's of the world scumbags...and the F Lee Baileys and Jonathan Cochran's as well...In fact attacking your opponent is exactly the legal strategy employed by any judicial player worth their salt. However, maybe Earle doesn't have a political vendetta. Maybe he is doing his job, which is to take cases brought to his office and prosecute them.
While I refuse to concede that DeLay's indictment is political, I think conservatives are overly sensitive to this issue. You may remember a time when they used the courts and an independent prosecutor to hunt a president and tie up his administration. Wasting the time of every branch of governement and millions of taxpayer dollars over a stupid sex scandal that half the holier-than-thou accusers engaged in themselves. (can you say Henry Hyde?) Hmmm, I guess they don't like when it the shoes on the other foot.
Should a thought of that earlier folks. Politics is hell, ain't it?
