How Ironic

Check out this story, about the sad state of affairs in the Episcopal Church. How ironic that those who would be the first to describe themselves as "tolerant" and "inclusive" have, in fact, been formulating secret plans to eject orthodox Episcopal bishops from their dioceses, install liberal bishops, and litigate over the disposal of church property.

All this is over the liberal faction's decision to ordain an openly homosexual Episcopal priest as a bishop. Mind you, the majority of the Anglican Communion worldwide opposed the move, but the liberals in the Episcopal Church of the USA ignored them -- and now are attempting to impose their own beliefs even on priests who dissent from them based on holy texts and their own religious convictions.

Seems like the "tolerance" and "inclusiveness" go only one way, doesn't it?

Its not just the homesexual issue, but the liberals had to dismiss the authority of the scriptures in order to rationalize thier actions vis a vis the "gay" bishop.

Essentially, the Episcopal Church has become Unitarian.

A blast from the past....

Bush press pal quits
over gay prostie link

WASHINGTON - A conservative ringer who was given a press pass to the White House and lobbed softball questions at President Bush quit yesterday after left-leaning Internet bloggers discovered possible ties to gay prostitution...

Gannon began covering the White House two years ago for an obscure Republican Web site ( He was known for his friendly questions, including asking Bush at last month's news conference how he could work with Democrats "who seem to have divorced themselves from reality."

Gannon was also given a classified CIA memo that named agent Valerie Plame, leading to his grilling by the grand jury investigating her outing...(2/10/2005)

Now thats what I call tolerance and inclusiveness! By the way, was there anyone who WASN'T given Valerie Plame's identity?

I'm with you, Kent.

If Episopal's removed the name of Jesus, they'd be indistinguishable among Unitarians.

Then they wonder why they're losing people.

This is sad. As a very conservative member of mostly conservative congregation of the very liberal United Church of Christ, we are faced with a similar conundrum as the leftist factions have passed a resolution in support of gay marriage at the most recent Synod. An upcoming conference of like minded members will be discussing ways to deal with it without seceding. I can't help but feel less than hopeful that ideas presented will keep me from leaving. Pray for us.
